What is so exciting about a tip?   Well lots of people in the waste management engineering field think that the new low budget push pit type transfer station built at Mansfield is a cut above the rest.  The design of the new transfer station was scaled down from a design only thought to be necessary for very large sites.  

An innovative approach was taken to ensure that this small, edge of the snow field town has first rate waste disposal facilities with an emphasis on waste retrieval.   The facility has been nominated at the National Transfer & Landfill conference in Melbourne in November 2007.
